Tennis coach and model Katharine Brown is the new pride of the nation after being crowned Miss Scotland 2009.
She got into the final after beating thousands of entries and last night finally landed the glittering crown and title.
The gorgeous 22-year-old, from Dunblane in Perthshire, screamed “Oh my God”, as she was declared the winner. She then mouthed: “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” according to The Scottish Sun.
Hosted by Duncan James from Blue, the glamourous bash had a 2000-strong crowd, performances from stunning girlband The Saturdays and a celebrity judging panel including STV's very own Stephen Jardine and Miss Scotland 2008 Stephanie Willemse.
Stephanie saw her reign as Miss Scotland come to an end and told The Scottish Sun:
“I now have to take a back seat as the new Miss Scotland becomes our country’s ambassador, but I know she’ll do a wonderful job.”
Runner-up was Jamey Bowers, 19, from Edinburgh while Diane Mathieson, also 19, from Saltcoats in Ayrshire came third.
The new Miss Scotland took home £10,000, a sunshine holiday, £500 worth of Ultimo lingerie and swimwear, a year’s free haircare from Taylor Ferguson, a presenter audition for Radio Clyde, a showreel audition to launch a new TV career, and she’s now the official face of Rox Jewellery.
And later this year Katharine will become Scotland’s hope in the Miss World 2009 pageant in Johannesburg, South Africa.
